Since a lunatic has infected the original Worst Movie Ever thread, how about starting a new thread about the Worst Movie Sequels ever....

I nominate: Book of Shadows - Blair Witch 2. Taking everything the original succeeded with: amateur actors, no money, home video style equipment and an interesting story and throwing it all in the trash to come up with professional but unknown actors, a lot of money, professional equipment and a story that interested no one. Was the take on BW2 less than the cost of BW1?

I thought Blair Witch 2 was pretty bad... but it was still five times better than the first one. Shaking the camera while screaming "Josh" just isn't entertainment.

Beastmaster 2 was a colossal mess. Perhaps even more of a mess than the Highlander sequels.

The hills have eyes 2... I personally especially liked the flashbacks from the dog's point of view.

House at the edge of the park...Because everyone really cared about Kroog and his exploits.

Shock Treatment was the worlds most incoherent sequel.

The critters sequels were all pretty horrible. I think the last one only had enough of a budget for one critter, even.

I think my all time favorite bad sequel though has to be Silent Night Deadly Night 2. With enough flashbacks from the first movie, that it was almost the whole movie. And the main actor...."NAUghTEEE!!! Ha HAAHAA ha!" and bizarre twitching eyebrows and facial contortions. It was incredible.

I'd say the entire Star Wars enterprise after Empire Strikes Back, but that's way too obvious an answer, and they're not, strictly speaking, b-movies.

Oh hell, I'll say it anyway.

Shock Treatment??...yeh alright it is pretty disconnected...Trick or Treat...several others named...i love all these films...i even enjoy Exorcist:The Heretic which i cant remember if it was listed earlier but...yeh it is pretty thin and reaching plot wise and castwise your really not going to get more schlocky then Richard Burton who took the part to help pay divorce costs...it wouldnt have helped concciderable but the original actor for the pt should have been John Voit .
        wait...am i rambling?
Trick or Treat has so many fun lines i still like to keep in my tourettes mental list :
        *"NO FALSE METAL!"
*"Plah my tape for me tonight-TONIGHT!"
*"How can you listen to this shit"
and a personal fave "Do you think im a wussy fucking weak tit?!"
I was a life long and(now in recovery)KISS fan so back then seeing Gene was cool...uh now i just think of how he was wearing glittery gowns and wigs in contrast(Asylum era) which is a while other bad sequel in rock...but none the less i like some of the stuff you guys have mentioned....others are truly bad...

Maybe I'm showing my age but back in the glory days of Hammer Films we had great series of Dracula and Frankenstein movies but both series bought the shitter when they came out with "Horror of Frankenstein" (without Peter Cushing as Baron Frankenstein) and "Seven Brothers Meet Dracula" (without Christopher Lee as Dracula). Now I personally enjoyed large bits of "Seven Brothers" - especially when I saw it again as "Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires" - but these two films put the final nails in the coffin of both already dwindling series. I'm sure there's worse sequels than these but when I look back at them all I can think of is they ended those series that used to bring me a lot of enjoyment at the Saturday afternoon matinees.

I love the Seven Golden Vampires! Christopher Lee, however, did not portray Dracula in that particular movie. He was, of course, a staple of many, many other Hammer productions, in which he played The Count and other characters.

The Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires was actually a joint effort between Hammer and the Shaw Brothers, who made kung fu movies at the time.

            It's so wacky!

You got it, Bob. Hammer dropping Cushing as Baron Frankenstein and Lee as Dracula (or Lee dropping Hammer, whatever) was a death knell for both series. Just think of how much better Golden Vampires would have been if Lee had portrayed the Count.

    The Blood Sport sequels
    and the American Ninja collections
    were also pretty piss poor.

the recent star wars "prequels" bit hard. I did like EMPIRE, but JEDI was also a turd.
I also found the 2nd Lord of The Rings to be painfully silly and/or dull. I've heard the 3rd one "gets better".
also, Jaws 3D was bad, as was a LOT of the Friday The 13th films. A LOT of them.
Do Bond films count? Roger Moore in Moonraker was enough to kill what little interest I had in Bond.
also, a future badfilm category should be "worst movie ever: films adapted from TV series" (a long list there!)

Of course I could not resist giving an opinion on such a nonsensical subject.
If the films were so horrible, why did so many people go to see them?
Easy, the average American has only a 6th grade knowledge. I forget where I read that, but it makes enough sense to me! Yes, Star Wars is for complete nerd outcasts that .........I'll finish here before I say too much. Most sequals never topped the original film, except in few occasions:
        Evil Dead 2
Exorcist 2 (I don't care what anyone says it's fabulous!)
        Godfather 2
Cleopatra Jones & The Casino Of Gold
Foxy Brown (Originally titled Coffey 2)
        Drum (Mandingo 2)
        la Cage aux Folles 2
        Aliens
Scum of the Earth Pt. 2
        2010: The Year.....
        Phantasm 2
        Hellraiser 2
But the worst!? It's too easy:
        Austin Powers blah blah blah
        jaws 2
        empire strikes back
        rocky 2
        men behind the sun 2
        evil dead trap 2
        die hard 2
        the ring 2
        batman returns
        Return from Boggy Creek

NOW: notice how interchangeable these two groups are, yet similar in appearance as films.

We're screwed. The best is the worst of the best of the worst.
